Kaldor City - It's not Officially Canon...
Kaldor City is a corrupt place with a stark demarcation between the wealthy and the poor where robot slaves toil and occasionally go berserk. Iago, a computer genius/gun for hire, finds himself in Kaldor City where he gets a job as the body guard ("I prefer head of security.") for a councilman (Top Master).
That's on the 1st level. The Kaldor City audio series is based on the characters and places Chris Boucher created for Doctor Who and Blake's 7, specifically the DW episode Robots of Death and the Blake 7 character Carnell, the psychostrategist. Combine that with Paul Darrow providing the voice for Iago and you can easily speculate that Iago is really a post Guada Prime Avon with a quick change of name to avoid copyright infringement. Iago — quick-witted, computer genius, nefarious, self serving ... that's starting to sound a lot like...
Fear not if you aren't a Blake's 7 fan or if you've never seen Boucher's Doctor Who episodes. The Kaldor City series stands on its own. I played it for a co-worker who had never heard of Doctor Who, Blake's 7, or most other science fiction series and he loved it. The acting is excellent, which I expected, and the sound quality/production is top notch which I totally didn't expect. These are brilliant! Top notch!
